THE DISTRICT SPORTS ASSOCIATION (DSA) WEST SIANG DISTRICT
A BRIEF HISTORY OF ITS GENESIS |
| Games & Sports infuses a sense of discipline and camaraderie and the feeling of brotherhood among the people. It was a way back in the year 1983 the seniors of this district felt it and in this regard a meeting was convened on 19th September 1983 in Aalo Club with an aim to form a body in the name of District Sports Association, West Siang District. The then Deputy Commissioner, Shri Chinmoy Ghosh presided over the meeting. The pioneers of this novel idea and the men with a vision who felt this need to promote games & sports, so that the talented sportsman would get an opportunity to come into the lime light and into the mainstream, were:-

It was thoroughly discussed and each members were of the opinion that the house should meet off and on for the action taken on various lines and important matters relating to promotion of games & sports should brought to the knowledge of the general body so that the games & sports event be streamlined with proper discipline and in good manners.
The members agreed upon to elect one member from the elected executive member to be Asst. Secretary, who will assist the Secretary in all matters relating to the games & sports of the Association in the district. And after a brief discussion and suggestions from the members present, the following members were elected as office bearers unanimously:- |

Shri Boken Ete, Ex-MLA was unanimously elected as the Chief Patron of the District Sports Association. The administration of the DSA is governed by the bye-laws framed under its constitution.
