Aalo, December 8: A free Mega Eye Camp was organized by District Blindness Control Society of West Siang District at District Hospital Aalo and it was inaugurated by Shri Huzar Lollen, IAS Deputy Commissioner West Siang District on 27th Nov 08.
While addressing the gathering the DC lauded the noble venture by the Health Department. Eye diseases are rampant among the people of west Siang District and such camp may be organized from time to time and will immensely benefit the poor and needy people. He appreciated the doctors officials who had came from Venue Eye Institute & Research Centre New Delhi and encouraged them to keep the tasks sincerely.
While welcoming the gathering Dr. T. Tamut, DMO Aalo said that Eye care needs of patients and have to be mitigated through such camps and informed that Opthalmic Asstt. DH Aalo had registered 147 Nos. of cataract patients. He also highlighted the Mega Eye camp which was conducted w.e.f. 22nd to 24th Jan 08 organized by DBCS Aalo.
While addressing the house Dr. Vishal Saxena, Consultant disclosed that hypertension growing diabetic disease and cataracts are the main causes of blindness. He also informed that such camps are organized all over India, such as Arunachal Pradesh, Uttaranchal etc. by Venue Eye Institute & Research Centre New Delhi.
Dr. K. Rina Med. Supdt. District Hospital Aalo extended the vote of thanks to one and all for successful beginning of the Mega Eye Camp.
The persons having eye problem have been spotted from various places through long drawn process and operated by Dr. Vishal Saxena, Consultant and Dr. Abhishek Dutta, Sr.MO Venue eye Institute New Delhi Research Centre.
