Aalo, Nov26: The District Family Welfare deptt. conducted Information Education & Communication (IEC) Camp on 3rd 4th 5th 6th 9th 10th 18th and 19th Nov, 2008.
The IEC camp on Adolescents, Maternal Health, Immunization, Prevention of common infectious diseases, Oral health, affect of tobacco was conducted at remote area of the district at Tato, Mecheka and Basar circle where many students, pregnant women and villagers participated. Quiz competition was also conducted in the School level on HIV AIDS. A Video film on benefits of breast feeding, safe water drinking, family planning and affect of smoking & chewing of tobacco was shown to public. It was so effective that many public in front DFWO Aalo on the spot promised not to smoke or chew tobacco in future, prominent of them were Shri Toi Basar ASM Shri Jumke Basar Head Gao Bura of Nyigam village.
DFWO Aalo, in collaboration with PHED department Er. Itum Nacho A.E. Aalo Division conducted IEC activities at Gune Bane, Doji Jeko, Jirdin, Kombo Tarsu Mobuke, Angu, Higi Bagra village. Shown video film on safe water drinking and benefits of ante Natal checkup and told villager about JSY, Tubectomy, Vastectomy benefits under NRHM.
