Rijiju Unveils Golden Jubilee Liin at Eyi Village

On 14th November:- The Union Minister for Law and Justice Shri Kiren Rijiju accompanied by Minister Agriculture, Horticulture & AHVS Er Tage Taki, Industries & Textile Er. Tumke Bagra, Liromoba MLA Nyamar Karbak, Aalo East MLA Advocate Kento Jini, DC, SP and HODs unveiled the Golden Jubilee Liin commemorating the 50 years of existence of Eyi village amid fanfare as Chief Guest today.
Addressing a huge gathering at Eyi village Shri Rijiju said that all Galo villages are beautifully located with striking culture and living styles and expressed his gratitude for their love and affection to send him to parliament as MP, MOS and as the first Cabinet Minister of the state and first tribal Cabinet Minister Law and Justice to take part in the decision making process of the Union Government. As a representative of the people he lamented that lifeline TAH road connecting the district could not be completed despite best efforts to get it sanctioned long years back due to multiple problems here and there. The 9000 crore package for laying underground cable connections to improve net connectivity could not materialize due to such in-completion of roads. But he assured to tie up with all concerned to speed up the pace of work.
Though Covid-19 has engaged the Govt. at all level for two to wage war on different fronts and isolated him to meet each other, there is nothing likes interacting with the people so closely in their villages, he said. He disclosed that govt. is committed to look into rural road heads, housing, rural electrifications, water connections, children and women welfare’s schemes etc and these centrally sponsored schemes should percolate down to the common masses as witness to developments undertaken by the govt. through various agencies. He also released a calendar and assured to one point memorandum pertaining to construction of a multi-storied building for UPS Eyi village submitted by Shri Reken Ingo, Secy. GJCC on behalf of Nyiko Bango Welfare Society. He also felicitated Shri Hokda Lollen, one of the surviving pioneers of the village creation and urged all to look out for confidence building measures to thrive and prosper as better and better village in the years to come.
Recalling his association with people of the villager as EE PWD and as elected representative during Mopin Festival in the past, Er. Tage Taki Minister Agriculture, Horticulture & AHVS said that it a nostalgic moments to look back developments and history of the village sitting together. He urged the villagers to From a Cooperative Farming Group of three to meet up the growing need for tractors and power tillers in Aalo East constituency. Industries & Textile E. Tumke Bagra exhorted the people to keep up the unity and oneness among the people of the village for its further growth and development.
The Aalo East MLA and Advisor Law and Justice said that Union Minister visiting a village is a rare occasion to cherish and pointed out development schemes like sanctioning of Rs.20
for boundary fencing of the school, drains and Dere to Eyi village in particular and Nyiko Bango in general and hoped that the Minister will take judiciary here to a broader perspective to establish composite Courts here too. He also urged the Agriculture Minister to increase quotas of power tillers and tractors and Fishery activities as a progressive fish farmer from the area have even gone to the extent of local fish breeding. He also pointed out works like black topping of road from Eyi to BRTF Road, Construction of Rostrum at the cost of Rs. 50, 00000 and 2 km of road from Ego camp to Debu.
Shri Yomto Jini, District BJP President, Mili Ango, Chairman EVGJCC, Shri Reken Ingo Secretary EVC also spoke in detail on the history and evolution of the village and problems of the UPS Eyi school.
