Meet on Untraditional Way of Fishing at Hig Bagra village Held.

Aalo 15th March:- A daylong awareness meeting on untraditional way of fishing in different rivers of West Siang convened by Bagra administration and participated largely participated by ATPWDS, office bearers of MAYA, GBs, Ex. PRIs was held at Kamru, Higi Bagra on 12th March last. The Aalo Town Peoples’ Welfare and Development Society led by its Chairman Shri Kento Ete
explained the need to maintain the ecological balance to counter global warming that is causing health hazards. The team stressed the need to make a blanket ban on untraditional methods of fishing and hunting to conserve aquatic life, beautiful birds and animals in our forest. The society is also making all out effort to draw a uniform opinion on ban on fishing and hunting with neighboring districts. The district administration has also banned sale of fishing nets, wet and dry fishes in markets from the month of April to stop killing of fishes in the breeding the season.
