75TH Republic Day celebrated at West Siang District, Aalo

Aalo the 26th  January 2024: The 75th Republic Day was colourfully celebrated at West Siang District at Government Higher Secondary School ground, Aalo. Ms Mamu Hage, IAS Deputy Commissioner West Siang District Aalo graced the Occasion as Chief Guest and hoisted the National flag. During  the freedom movement of India she recalled the role of unsung heroes/Freedom fighters of West Siang who took part during the freedom movement against the Britishers. One of them is Late Ligin Bomjen (Tamra Patra awardee ) who actively participated  during the freedom movement and attended the hoisting of National flag at Dipa village in 1947.

            Deputy Commissioner appealed the youth of the Society to involve in development activities. She urged the youth to refrain from the drugs. Also she urges the people of Aalo to keep the Yomgo river clean. “In West Siang Foreign and local tourist has been increased due to the hospitality and tourism potentials of West Siang” she said in the address.

            She further appeals the people of West Siang to carry forward the legacy of the freedom fighters vision and jointly worked for the upliftment of the society. West Siang have a vast geographical area, to protect the environment. She further appeal the people of West Siang to preserved the flora and fauna.

            The auspicious Day was celebrated across all ADC and Circle headquarter of West Siang.

            During the celebration, cultural, exhibition stall, Band Display of Indian Army was showcased and various sports activity was conducted.

             The Celebration was attended by A.Poswal,IPS S.P Aalo, Shri Kento Jini, HMLA 31st Aalo East Constituency, Ex Minister Shri Doi Ado, Shri Tumpe Ete, ZPC West Siang, ZPMs of West Siang, Admin Officers, HoD’s, Cultural troupes from various villages of West Siang, Students from various schools of West Siang District and public’s of West Siang.
