North Eastern Region BRO Labour Union Conducts Awareness Camp

Aalo 24th Sept: – BRO labour Union of North Eastern Region conducted one day Awareness Workshop and
registration drives in collaboration with JWCAPTU at Gumin Kiin on 23rd Sept. last. Altogether 158
labourers were registered on the spot under the initiative of Shri Jumnu Ligo, Registering Officer
APB&OCWWB.
Addressing the gathering as the Chief Guest, Shri Darsi Prakash Officer Commanding 44 BRTF
Thumbin said that BRTF is engaging large number of labour force to carry out different road heads in
the district and the organisation is doing its best to boost up the morale of the labours to imbibe
work culture to carry out roads works in difficult terrains of border areas. Welfare of the workforce
like timely payments, opening of schools for offspring of labours and health care through their own
doctors is given due care. The Guest of Honour, Shri Gijum Tali, DIPRO appealed the union leaders to
disseminate various labour welfare legislations and flagship programmes initiated by state and central
govts that can ameliorate the condition of labours.
Shri Jumnu Ligo, Registering Officer APB&OCWWB, Shri Rinto Ete President and Shri Tumge Ete
General Secretary BRO Labour Union and Shri Donga Kayi dwelt at length on latest labour laws,
registration of labours and welfare measures and appealed the BRO authorities to provide all facilities
to the labour and appealed all labours to share their burning problems with the leaders of the union
from time to time to make it forum to look into their welfare needs. The Doctors and junior engineers
from BRTF also atteneded the meeting and share their views.
