Aalo 01 April: – Former Zamidhar & Political interpreter of NEFA days, Damli Yomgam popularly known as âZAMA KALIâ breathed his last passed away at the age of 91 years at his residence at Akker Yomgam Village 30th April last. The kits and kins, relatives within and outside are flowing in to see the last rite of this great soul.He was born in 1929 at Akker Yomgam under Yomcha Circle of West Siang Distinct and served as Zamadhar in NEFA days and as political interpreter in various parts of the district. He retired from active Gov.t service in 1986 and continues to serve the society for the cause of downtrodden and emerged as one of the most recognized personality of Galo society. He was a great exponent of tribal culture, rituals, faith and beliefs.
In his condolence message, President Kargu Kardi Welfare Society, Shri Toyi Raksap said that with his demise a vibrant era is lost and passing away of old genre of people with vast knowledge on growth and development of society is a great loss. The legendary figure first-generation leader who led us from the front is a loss for the state. The KKWS has also sent his heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family members.
