Aalo 29 Oct: – Shri Nyato Dukam who is making a whirlwind tour to various district has asked work agencies to deposit 1% cess through demand Draft directly to the Board for proper implementation of the money for the welfare of the labours in the state as sole concern of the Board is for the welfare of the laboueres only. This was disclosed in a meeting chaired by the West Siang Deputy Commissioner at Coference Hall of DC office today. The fund available under the Board will now be decentralized by palcing the fund required for the district under respective DCs for speedy implementation. He disclosed that statutory benefits of labour has drastically been increased raising maternity benefit from Rs.1000 to Rs.6000, Natural death from Rs.15000 to 2 lacs, accidental deaths from Rs.50,000 to 4 lakhs besides fillip in medical aids and education benefits to Laborers. The spot assessment reveals that flight and problems of labourers are all alike everywhere and asked the respective DC to locate land for taking up Labour Shed for which fund will be allocated at any time and stressed on registration of labourers in the district through Labour Officer. The DC Shri Moki Loyi said that land for Labour Shed will be tried through LR Department and registration drive and awareness to labourers will be done soon so that all labours get the equal benefit. The OSD to Chairman Shri Tadung Rigia dwelt at length on statutory and non statuory works and ways and means implement the benefits to the needy labourers. Shri Jumnu Ligu spelt out the objective behind the tour and expressed his gratitude to the Chairman and his team for such important visit even during the pandemic time to create this awareness.
