APSCPCR Chairperson Interacts with Stakeholders on Child Rights

On 10^th Nov:- The Chairperson Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights Smti Gumri Ringu along with Member of the Commission had detail interactions programme with DC, SP, HODs, APWWS, CBOs, NGOs and other stakeholders on Child rights at Conference Hall of DC office on 10th November last.

            Chairing the interactive session, Smti Ringu said that the Commission has toured all district of the state and soon cover all district untouched so far due to Covid-19 pandemic to spread the message child welfare and rights through interactive sessions with all stakeholders. The commission is also visiting all Anganwadi Centre’s where children are fed meals and assessing the Juvenile Justice Board and functioning of CWCs, schools etc. He stressed on proper construction of Anganwadi Centre in a centrally located place which is conducive for the growth and development of children instead of constructing it in isolated locations to suit the needs of individuals. The children should not be fed with expiry food items and police should file char sheets against offences meted out to children timely as per appropriate section of law.

            The Member APSCPCR, Shri Ngurang Achung dwelt at length on power and functions of the Commission pertaining POCSO Act 2012 and Child Labor Act and role of police in child abuse cases. Another Member of the Commission, Shri Jomtum Minga elaborated on Right to Education 2020 free education to children from 6 to 14 years, admission, issue of Transfer Certificates, denial of admissions and need for sex education in schools.

            The DC West Siang Shri Penga Tato assured the commission to look into whatever is needed from administration side to tide over issues raised by the Commission. The Deputy Director In charge Shri Bahi Koyu outlined the detail presentation of the works parting to Child care in the district. The SP, representatives from APWWS Aalo Unit and Shri Kenedy Bagra from Mothers’ Vision also spoke in detail on Child care and Drug addictions.
