Team APSCPCR Conducts Child Right Awareness in Shhi- Yomi District

On 14^th November:- Team of APSCPCR (Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights) led by Smty. Gumri Ringu Hon’ble Chairperson, Ms. Peace Moyong, Mr. Jumtum Minga and Mr Ngurang Achung visited Mechuka on 11^th November 2021. Smty. Gumri Ringu presented a keynote speech describing the powers, functions and responsibilities of the commission concerning Protection of Child Rights. Mr. Ngurang Achung spoke in length regarding Right to Education Act ensuring Free and Compulsory Education to the Children and mandatory implementation of COTPA (The Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act 2003) in letter and spirit around educational premises. Mr. Jumtum Minga discussed in detail about POCSO Act 2012, and other legal provisions under Juvenile Justice Act. He exhorted the Child Welfare Committee of Shi-Yomi District to work diligently so that the Rights of the Children are not violated. The team also visited Anganwadi Centers Bumjipanga and Drongsar under Mechuka ICDS Project and had a short discussion with the AWWs and Children. Among the participants were Shri Biaro Sorum ADC Mechuka, DMO Shi-Yomi, Officer in Charge Mechuka Police Station, HoDs, PRI Leaders, GBs and staffs from WCD Dept. The day ended with an interaction meeting with all the stakeholders and a Vote of Thanks by Mr. Ojing Talom , CDPO Monigong.
