Aalo 13 Dec:- The Divisional Level Review Meeting to take stock of all ongoing PMGSY roads phase-I and II was held under the Chairmanship of West Siang Deputy Commissioner Shri Penga Tato at Conference Hall of RWD Office with all engineers and contractors of the district today. The all important meeting was necessitated to keep pace with all ongoing works as all budgetary grants by Central Govt. is to be frozen by March 31,2022 under latest deadline given to the department of RWD.
Chairing the meeting, the DC asked all contractors to complete the works by March 2022 as per assurances given by the contractors handling the works to maintain quality as per DPC and asked executing agency to supervise and give technical advices on regular basis without leaving the works in the mercy of contractors. Failure on the part of contractors will not only give bad name to the district but result in blacklisting of the firm and deprive rural people of connectivity facilities and asked all to position their men and materials to start the works on war-footing within remaining four months. The DC also hinted on visiting all work sites within a week to take stock of the progress of works.
The West Siang ZPC, Shri Babom Romin said that the Contractors and Executing Agency have to work untiringly keeping in view of deadline set by the govt. of India so that development and communication facilities in the unconnected rural areas through the ages are not dislodged. The EE RWD Er. Jumnya Angu disclosed that the meeting has been called to make aware of the issue with the contractors in presence of DC and ZPC and elaborated on latest govt. guidelines and status of all ongoing works, schemes to be taken under PMGSY phase III through Power Point presentations.
Er. Nyomar Karbak, AE RWD Aalo disclosed that lone PMGSY at Aalo, Nyomdir to Beye spanning 9 km was left defunct by a construction Agency after it was sanctioned in 2017 and after termination of the said contractor, Shri Idak Bagra a local contractor has assured to complete the work in six month time after taking it over recently. Er Monga Yomgam dwelt at length on 10.92km Darak to Boru Raksap, 10 km Liromoba to Rise Roa,. 31 km Pidi Rime to Gadi Mesi, 12.96 km Yomcha to Belo Road, 9.6 km Road from Darak to Larmuk Potom, 38 m BUG Bridge Darak- Boru Raksap, Tabasora- Kadayi BUG Bridge and 5.70 km Pidi Rime to Tego Gamlin.
The meet observed slow progress of works in few PMGSY road works and each contractor were asked to updates on works carried out so far and all assured to complete the works by March, 2022 after which all budgetary support by the Govt. of India will be frozen as per latest order issued by the govt. The District Planning Officer Shri Marjum Karga, Er. Gamnya Bagra ASW, Divisional Accountant Jhummi Kamum also spoke on the occasion.
