National Tourism Day organized by Tourism Department of West Siang

Aalo  8^th Feb: The National Tourism Day organized by District Tourism Department in collaboration with Country Club Kabu as a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav was inaugurated by West  Siang Deputy Commissioner, Shri Penga Tato at Liro on the right bank of Yomgo River today.

  Speaking on the occasion, he DC insisted the owner of the resort to use the spot solely for the purpose it was granted permission. The place should be kept neat and clean free from any kind of littering and awareness on the importance of Tourism in this District should be generated among young generations as source of employment generation in the days to come. He also gave away the prizes for day long events in the riverside.

The District Tourism Officer, Shri T.K Kopak said that efforts are being made to celebrate and pursue a sustainable ecotourism that will attract domestic and foreign tourism in the time to come. He expressed his gratitude to DC and team of officers, public and management groups for making the daylong event a successful one.

Shri Deba Loya and Kajom Jini who are managing the Picnic Spot cum Resort said that effort taken by them is to convert beautiful land, jungles and riversides as places of tourist attraction. The day witnessed Bamboo Boat Rafting competition and preparation of local Cuisine competition among the villagers.
