National campaign on Gender based discrimination ending Gender base violence held at Aalo.

Aalo on 17th December 2022:- The National Campaign on Gender based discrimination ending Gender-based violence was held at Aalo organized by UBU-PUBU ANE Cluster LEVEL FEDERATION (CLF) Aalo West Siang District and it was facilitated by BMMU Aalo (ArSRLM).

Before the meeting, a mass rally was organized from old Market Aalo to Gumin kin participated by women from all walks of life. This campaign was begun on 24th Nov 2022 and will end on 23rd Dec 2022.

Smty Liyum Angu Lomi welcome all participants and dignitaries .   Sri Babom Romin ZPC and Smty Jarjum Gamlin Ete graced the occasion as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour.

Dr. Dubom Bagra(DMO) Aalo as resource person elaborately discussed on Gender Discrimination, Gender equality, Health and education of the women.

Smty. Mabi Taipodia (SDO) as a resource person spoke on the occasion on gender equalities.

Sri Bahi Koyu (CDPO cum Dy. Director ICDS) Aalo spokes on domestic violence Act 2005, Child Marriage, Women welfare schemes and programme under taken by govt like District hub for women empowerment, Nari Shakti Puraskar etc.

Smty Jarjum Ete Gamlin Ete as Guest of honour elaborately told all about the Gender Discrimination and highlighted the scopes of Arunachal State Rural Livelihood Mission ArSLM. She appeals that male preference in the Galo society should be prevails and it should be discouraged and equality of male and female should be traditionally accepted.

Chief Guest Babom Romin spokes on Discrimination where he urged the public’s to avoid the practice of discrimination. He recalled the Discrimination happened during his childhood days where two foreigner couple were chased away from village by his villagers because of their short western Dressed. He requested such practiced should be avoided.   

During the occasion he urged the women to participated equally with men’s in every developmental activities. He said State Govt is giving their the best effort to reducing all kind of Discrimination. He also spokes on Gender equality, women welfare and their empowerment etc.

           He further appealed the publics to avoid Galo traditional Taboo’s.

During the occasion various women SHGs, VO, Public’s were took participated.
