Training on “Substance Abuse Prevention and Life Skill” held at Aalo

Aalo the 30th May 2025: A one day training under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) on “Substance Abuse Prevention and Life Skills” was successfully conducted  today at Conference Hall, Circuit House, Aalo. The event was sponsored by Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Govt. of India.

            The programme commenced with the Welcome & Key notes address by Smt. Yabi Riba Ete, Deputy Director (ICDS) cum District Nodal Officer (NMBA), West Siang District, Aalo. She emphasized the objective and importance of Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan (NMBA) and highlighted the pivotal role of Master Volunteers in spreading  awareness and sensitizing the public about the ill effect of substance abuse in the district.

            Resource persons Shri Kennedy Bagra, Managing Director, Mother Vision’s (NGO), Aalo and Dr, Nyade Padu Bagra, DTO, General Hospital, Aalo made detailed PPT on the Social Causes of Drug Abuse and role of Psychosocial treatment in managing substance use disorder. The session also covered topics such as Acute Behavioral Effects, Withdrawal Features and the impact of prolonged use of Psychoactive substance.

            The training programme was graced Smty Mabi Taipodia Jini,  ADC, Aalo who attended as Chief Guest of the training programme and addressed the Master Volunteer. She urging them to dedicate their effort towards making the district drugs free.

            The programme concluded with all participants solemnly taking a pledge under NMBA to contribute towards building a drug free district.
