Aalo 6th Dec:- A daylong Legal Awareness programme conducted by APWWS Aalo unit in collaboration with Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Women participated at large by Sector Women wings, HODs, GBs, PRIs and Anganwadi workers of WCD was held at Gumin Kiin today.
Attending the programme, the MLA Aalo East cum Advisor Law &Justice Advocate kento Jini said that rights, duties and liberties of women have clearly been defined under Article 15,16,19,21 and 300A to safeguard them. The govt. has also enacted several Acts and welfare measures like Beti Bachao, Beti Padao, One Stop Centre Schemes, Free Legal Services, Women helpline Schemes, Working Women Hostel, Nari Shakti Puraskar etc. to protect them. He expressed his happiness that women are taking lead role in the district on many issues in the district. He also disclosed that he is taking up 95% of sectors and town roads and TAH road too will pick up pace after handing over the bulk of Work by SRK to TTC.
Miss Hoksum Ori, Member APSCW dwelt at length on Role of Commission in tackling issues concerning the women and disclosed far reaching recommendations on 47 issues to govt, prominent being establishment of Maternity Hospital for women, Fast Track Court to speed up justice delivery system, creation of Lady Police Station, Independent Protection Officer, Forensic Laboratory, 33% Reservation in State Assembly etc, The former APWWS President Smti Jarjum Ete stressed on compulsory Marriage registration of married women, CCS Conduct Rule to safeguard defaulting husband and lamented that time has ripened for the womenfolk to know their rights, duties and privileges as such awareness programmes have been going since 2005.
The SDO Shri Henkir Lollen said that women has played pivotal roles in curving the evils in the progressive societies, Inspector Pari on Crime against women, Dr,. J.Kato on drug Abuse and alcoholism and Advocate Jorik Bagra on Property Rights of Women in the context of Arunachal Pradesh. The President APWWS Smti Marbom Bagra and Secretary Smti Roge Ado Ete dwelt at length on activities done in the district to ameliorate the condition of women in the district and expressed their gratitude to take up such important campaign in the district.
