APWWS, IPR, DLSA, ICDS Jointly Observes IWD with gaiety.

Aalo March 10:- The International Women Day was observed by the APWWS in collaboration with Department IPR, DLSA and ICDS Aalo Unit with enthusiasm and gaiety at Conference Hall of District Industries Centre on 8th March last. Attending the occasion as the Chief Guest, the West Siang Deputy Commissioner Smti Swetika Sachan stressed on the generation equality and exhorted womenfolk to know the rights, duties and responsibilities as women to contribute equally for the society and nation. The Guest of Honour of Honour, Shri Habung Tangu, CJM dwelt on all legal provisions that safeguards and facilitates women and take help of legal Aid Clinics at free of cause to sort out their grievances. President APWWS, Smti Marbom Riba Bagra President APWWS West Siang, Vice President Roge Ado Ete, Senior women Member Gedam Taso Lollen outlined on the history and significance of the day and called upon all women activists to come forward for the cause of women and child on many issues. Shri Marbom Riba Bagra President APWWS for Women Emancipation, Smti Jumde Gamilin, Chairperson Mothers’ Vision and Yater Doji Padu First Lady Engineer were given Govt ARC-2020 Award. The two meritorious girls from Aalo were also awarded cash prizes of R. 3000 along with trophies on the day.

 The International Women Day was also observed by the APWWSUnit of Yomcha Subdivision with enthusiasm and gaiety on 8th March last. Attending the occasion as the Chief Guest, former Yomcha ZPM Shri Yiyom Yomcha stressed on the generation equality and said that 33% reservation in Panchayat is an effort of the govt. to participate in the administration and development process right from the grassroot level. Smti Jumde Yomgam Gamlin, Chairman Mothers’ outlined on the history and significance of the day and called upon all women activists to come forward for eradication of drug and substance abuses that largely plague our society. Five villages from the subdivision participated to show Drama, dances, folklores, folk songs, anecdotes connected with the ancient womanhood on the day.
