Aalo19thNov:- The Arunachal Pradesh Women Welfare Society, West Siang Unit led by its President Smti Marbom Riba Bagra and senior women of the district took out a Candle March from its office to Nehru Chowk in protest against the gruesome murder of seven month old pregnant Techi Meena Lishi near Karsingsa block point around 25 km from Itanagar on 5th Nov last.
Congregating at Nehru Chowk to pay tribute to the departed soul, President APWWS West Siang Unit Smti Bagra said that this is the rarest of the rare crime meted to a woman by her own husband and first of its kind in this peaceful state. The perpetrator of the crime has not only killed late Meena but also a seven month old baby growing in her womb and urged the law enforcing authority to give stringent punishment to Roni Lishi and all Contract Killers who were involved in the murder. The West Siang women also lauded the Capital Police for making a great breakthrough in the Meena Techi Lishi murder case. What was pre planned as an accidental case turned out to be a coldblooded murder of an innocent and humble woman and women wing here assured to raise their voice in any platform. Smti Jumde Gamlin, Chairperson also spoke on the occasion.
One minutes silence was also observed as mark of respect to the departed soul
