Around 65 Anglers took Part in Darak Angling Festival.

Aalo 25thOct: – Around 65 Anglers from Sikkim, Meghalaya, Itanagar and West Siang took part in the second day of Eco- Tourism cum Angling Festival at Darak on 24th Oct last. The Angling Competition is supervised by Arunachal Anglers’ Forum led by its President Shri Bengia Tayu Bengia Tayu to work out the biggest and number of catches for cash award of Rs.50, 000, Rs.30,000 and 10,000 for the fisrt 2nd and third prizes. The In Charge Deputy Commissioner, C. Chukhu, Chief Engineer Shri T. Ronya, DTO Tourism TK Kopak and other officers enthusiastically took part in the angling.
The anglers caught rich varieties of fishes and largest catch is reported to be more than 5kg and all fishes are released after catching as per the angling norms and ethics and sale of fishes are completely banned during the festival as a part of local cuisine. The Commander Aalo Military Station is visiting the Validifory function today to give away the prizes for angling and cultural competition today.
The day three opens up sightseeing, hiking and trekking to different place of importance like Bengi Liine( Holy Site) at Darak, Penru( Cave Home of Bats) Taak Soi( Home of Wild Pigeon). The department of Fisheries led by DFDO Shri J. Chisi also gave power point presentation on conservation of fishes and angling methods.
