Civil Society Performs Local Ritual to Prevent Covid-19, Imposes Complete Restrictions on Movement.

Aalo March 25:- The Civil societies in West Siang are making all out efforts to ward off infection of Covid-19 at various locations by resorting even to traditional ritual of Ali-Ternam. The mass ritual at district headquarter Aalo is being initiated by GWS Aalo will start tonight and Priest Shri Mogi Ori will perform ritual Chanting from this evening to wee hours of 26th March and all kind of movements without exemptions will commence from 5pm on 26th to 5pm of 28th March. Five different entry points at Gabu near Logum Jini, Patum near Biru, Piggo near Keak, Hill Geko near Nyorak and Essi Tamen will be sealed completely. All walks of people have been appealed to cooperate for successful conduct of the
ritual.Meanwhile, a team comprising of Magistrate, Doctors and police had detail screening of 17 Jail inmates for Covid-20 and visiting quarantined places of people who have recently come in from outside of the state. Though sufficient days have passed by, is reported that no symptoms or complaints have been found from them. The encouraging trend in the rural areas is that people themselves are not allowing even kit and kins from direct entry into the village unless quarantined in district headquarter where more health facilities exist. The District administration under the leadership of Smti Swetika Sachan is closely monitoring the situation and SP Shri Jummar Basar is in the field with his boys to impose the total shut down order.
