Darak to Host 2nd Edition of Eco Tourism cum Angling Festival

The Darak Circle in Siang district will host 2^nd Edition of Eco Tourism cum Angling Festival from 9^th to 10^th Oct. Shri Yomjum Yomgam, senior Tour Operator cum Chairman Young Mission Adventure Club; an Ngo will conduct it in coordination with Lodu Ao Welfare Society. The event could not be conducted last year due to Covid-19.

          The ecotourism and Angling Festival has objectives like riverine conservation, income and employment generation to unemployed youths, preservation of rich culture and heritage, explore tourism activities and spots in such remote location and to create awareness on various tourism activities on angling, wild life, adventure, birding, trekking and butterfly lover’s tourism besides promoting home stays. The eco tourism is targeted to minimize impact on environment and conservation of flora and fauna.

          The Eco tourism and angling will offer wide range of local will allow “Catch and Release” of fishes in the river. The exhibition stalls on local cuisine, ornaments, traditional weaves and local properties will be showcased in the two day long event.
