DC Asks Regular Govt. Servants to Surrender AAY, PPHC Ration Cards.

Aalo 12 June:- Acting upon information that many of the regular govt. servants are availing highly subsidized govt. schemes by possessing AAY & Priority Household Category through family ration cards in the name of their wives, husband and daughters, the West Siang Deputy Commissioner Shri Moki Loyi has asked all such ration card holders to be surrendered within 30th of June. Such fraud and illegal means to draw monthly TPDS rice under National Food Security Act, 2013 at the rate of 35 kg against AAY and 5kg per member/month against PHHC at a rate of Rs. 3 per kg is quite illegal.
AAY and PHHC are meant for the poorest of the poor and BPL families whose annual income is below I lakh per annum. The DC also asked the DF & CSO to work out such holders of ration card among the regular govt. servants and asked them to surrender at the earliest by 30th June failing which Stringent legal action will be taken against the defaulters with recovery drive of the cost food grains drawn fraudulently with retrospective effect from April 2016 @ Rs. 27 per kg.
The DF & CSO Shri Rebom Nguso Lendo disclosed that matter are being taken up with concerned administrative officers, HGBs and GBs to work out a clear cut list of Poor and BPL families and staffs are working out the lists of such fraud ration card holders in the town also.
