DC Inaugurates Motorboat to promote Ecotourism at Paya Village.

Aalo 03rd Feb: – A Motor Boat funded under Arunachal Tourism Society was inaugurated by West Siang Deputy Commissioner Smti Swetika Sachan and formally handed over to Paya Village Eco-Tourism Development Committee after signing agreement between Tourism department and PEDS in a formal function held at right bank of Yomgo River at Paya village today.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that tourism industry can flourish from such small but creative venture and exhorted the villagers to work out good ideas and create self sustainable means in its beautiful banks. Hospitality and amenities matter most to the tourists and construction of toilets and tourist huts in the bank is and encouraging trend, she said. The DFO Shri Abhinav Kumar, SP Shri Jummar Basar, EE PHED Er. Kirba Sora and DTO Shri T. Kopak said that Tribal civilization and culture flourished in the river valleys and we all have been depending on river for irrigation and construction materials in a big way and it is also imperative on our part to give back to the river through conservation and keep the river clean. The villagers can use fund raised from the boat for development and productive uses in the village.
The Yomgo Accord and river narrative is the central theme of YRF-2020 and it is important to implement the accord in various locations in true spirit. The rate of Motor Boat from bank of Paya to Bene village is Rs. 200 per trip with tea and snacks in the place of halt located at appropriate place which is expected to fetch a monthly income of more than Rs.1,00, 000 but the villagers have been asked to pay back a minimum amount of Rs. 5000 annually as revenue for the govt.
