DC provides Solar Lights through APEDA.

Aalo 14th August: Anti-Social Crime mongers are away after installation of LED Based Solar Streetlight at strategic locations in Aalo Town. All the dark areas from Sipu Bridge to Samsan Ghat( Mebbu) , Nehru Chowk to Medical Colony and Cooperative Chariali to GHHS Gate has been illuminated. Criminals and drug users have been taking advantage of the dark at night to propagate their ill motives. 50 nos of 60W Module,23 Watt LED Luminaries, 3 days independent back-up Semi-Integrated Solar System with sensor and Lithium Ferrophospate battery has been used.
The systems have been installed under the initiation of the DC West Siang District, Smty Swetika Sachan on experimental basis. She had sanctioned Rs.20 Lakh from DC’s Untied Fund. APEDA Aalo Division implemented the project with collaboration of DA, DPO, and SP, West Siang. DC Also has also provided Solar Streetlight at Siang Sadan compound and Judicial Custody compound.
Solar technology is one of the best options in lighting solutions due to its independent operation mode. Moreover, conventional street lighting has problems in Billing System.District Developmental Committee recently has put up proposal for Solarised streetlight for Whole Township in the Budget Estimate.
