Deputy Commissioner inaugurated state Handloom Expos (SHEs) 2022 at Aalo

Aalo 28^th March:  Department of Textile and Handicrafts West Siang District Aalo organized a Two Week State Handloom Expo’s (SHEs) 2022(28th March to 10th April) at under the guidance of Mrs Teresa Padu, Assistant Director Textile and Handicrafts (ADTH) Aalo. The Expo 2022 was sponsored by Development Commissioner for Handloom, Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India and Organized by Arunachal Handloom and Handicrafts Society

The Theme of the Expos 2022 is “Be Vocal for the Local and My Handloom My Pride”

West Siang Deputy Commissioner Sri Penga Tato as a Chief Guest inaugurated the state Handloom Expos (SHEs) at Industry Complex Aalo.

                 The Deputy Commissioner while appreciating the stall articipants/Artisans and weavers/ encouraged that “Vocal for Local is for Self Sustainable. He appeals the Local artisans, weavers, local cuisines for quality and reasonable price for mass local products. He appeals the local weavers and artisans to open a vendors/shop for which the license will be given by District

Administration in Urban and village areas.

                 He further request the Textile and Handicrafts departments and skill development department to encourage the village artisans for economic and sustainable income generation of the individuals. Collection centre for local products of the District and nearby District is required for exports to other regions.

                 Guest of Honour Dr. Dubom Bagra(DMO) Aalo request the local weavers to designed for a particular tribe so that it can be recognized the different tribe. He appeals for Mass production of local items by maintain the qua

lity.

               A special song was presented and composed by Sri Lee Sora indicates to use a locally made cloths, local vegetables, crafts and to teach the young generation to conserve and preserve the age old practices.

               During the Expo Participants from various North East states, NGOs and nearby District of West Siang showcase their locally made products. A colourful cultural and Fashion show was presented specially locally woven uniform for schools, colleges, Nurses and Anganwadi workers conceptualized by Smt. Teresa Padu ADTH West Siang Aalo.
