DIGO-YAMO FESTIVAL CELEBRATED AT TATO

Tato 18th April:-  Digo Yamo festival of the Adis (Boh and erstwhile known as Pai-Libos) was celebrated with great fervour and festivity at Tato, the District Headquarter of Shi Yomi District w.e.f 13th April to 15th April 2022. Sri Mito Dirchi Deputy Commissioner, Shi Yomi District was invited as the Chief guest on 15th April 2022, the concluding day while Shri Sadung Gyadu, the ADC Monigaong Sub-Division was the Guest of Honour. The celebration marks the beginning of sowing of paddy, maize and other seeds in their paddy fields.The Celebration committee informed that due to various unavoidable reasons the celebration was discontinued few years back but it was reviewed and the resident of Tato circle has decided to celebrated the festival belong to the BOH AO in future continuously. The Day long programme was marked by Ponung dance, Jajin bari folk song, traditional folklore display, fashion show, inter village volley ball match, merrymaking community feast. Despite inclement weather hundreds of people participated in the festival. The celebration concluded with the prize distribution ceremony.
