District Administration seized tobacco and tobacco products.

Aalo the 20^th July2023: The flying squad team led by Smty Mabi Taipodia, ADC West Siang Aalo for effective implementation of COTPA 2003 raided the various shops nearby school premises and other places.

            During the surprise checking some grocery shops were found by selling of tobacco products in contravention to provision of section 6 (b), (Prohibition on sale of cigarettes and other tobacco products within 100 yards of Educational Institutions) and Section-4 (Prohibition of smoking in Publics Places).

During the surprise checking total worth of tobacco products value Rs 2.50 Lakh (Rupees two Lakhs fifty thousand) were seized from various shops and later on  it was burnt down before the Magistrate in Aalo Women Police Station.

It was also found that some shops were selling without the valid license. ADC asked them to update their license and also warned the shopkeepers not to sell tobacco and its products, if any shopkeepers found by selling of all these tobacco products their license will be canceled and she also inform all the shop owners not sell tobacco products in school premises as youths are prone to tobacco products. She further said that such more inspection will be carry out in the days to come.

The flying squad were Sri Maryom Karlo EAC Town Magistrate, Dr. Dubom Bagra DMO cum DNO (NTCP) , Dr. Tsering Wangmu kato (DSO), Officers of Trade & Commerce department, Tax & Excise and Police Forces.
