Aalo 14th Nov: – ”€œEducation and road connectivity hold key to pave way for other developments”, said Er. Tumke Bagra, attending the Valedictory Function of the Golden Jubilee Celebration of Wak Lower Primary School today. He gave the credit to the teachers, public and land donors of yesteryears who were instrumental in nurturing the school to see this great day today. He stressed on community involvement to arrest the growing unrest among the youths who are derailed from the path of learning. Our state is blessed with untapped resources and it is important to create an eco-friendly environment to invest on tourists. The Govt. is soon starting a ”€˜Food Park”€ at Itanagar and urged the marginal farmers to take keen interest in Horticulture. A Cold Storage Center too is completed at an appropriate location and a Sericulture Research Institute is also to be set up as farm and demonstration Center to farmers on different cultivations and asked people to locate a suitable land. The Industrial Policy is also being framed to benefit people in the long run, he said. The Minister assured to look into the urgent needs of a community Hall nad CC Pavement road leading to the school and distributed prizes for various cultural, games and Sports and Literary competitions.
The Basar MLA, Shri Gokar Basar who attended the function as Guest of Honour said that education has revolutionized the world but falling academic graph in our belts is a major cause for all of us. Teachers are nation builders and there should be no compromise in the appointment of quality teachers. A Society always grows on rural economy and our endeavor should be to give fillip to its growth and avenues. He said that administration should ensure that all facilities meant for BPL should go directly to BPL families without any diversion to well to do families. The First Teacher of the school Shri Minnya Jini gave a nostalgic narration on no salary for three months in the beginning of his service at Wak School, how people of Wak-Bene contributed rice, constructed school and teacher quarter for him in those days of adversity.
The Special Guest Smti Swetika Sachan said that completing golden Jubilee year is always a milestone and she said that Pre-board and Board examination will soon be started free of cost to students, any schemes meant for school should be utilized judiciously and genuine social workers should be appointed as School Management Committee. The Chief Patron of the Celebration Committee Shri Tumpe Ete, Organizing Chairman Shri Kento Kamnyi, and Organizing Secretary Shri Kido Ete also dwelt at length on growth and problems of the school in detail. The Land Donors of the school and first intellectuals of the Wak- Bene villages were also felicitated.
