Heavy thunderstorm create havoc in Aalo West Siang District

Aalo the 22^nd May 2024:  The heavy thunder storm like Tornado that occurred at West Siang District yesterday on 21^st May at 3 pm. The badly affected area of West Siang are AaloTownship, Darak Circle, Kamba Circle and nearby villages .

            During the thunder storm of Aalo Township few vehicle were damaged due to the fall of electric pole and heavy trees. The most affected department was Power (Electrical) division Aalo, the 33KV HT Line which connected to West Siang is badly affected resulting darkness in entire district, restoration process may take few days. The main 33KV Transmission line between 132/33KV Switch yard, Yeggo and 33/11 KV Switchyard near the power house of Aalo has been badly damaged near Pakam-II area. The treasury office of Aalo partially affected and CO office, Darak is completely blown off.

            More than 37000 population were affected, four houses were fully damaged and partially twenty seven houses were damaged. No human casualties were reported till date. The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMO) with the help of District administration restored the road blockages of affected areas of Kamba, Darak and National Highway-13.
