International Women Day Observed at Aalo

Aalo 08th March: The international women Day was celebrated at Aalo New Market Community Hall in collaboration with Women and Child Development department Aalo. This year the theme for international women day is “Gender Equality today for a Sustainable tomorrow “. The day was attended by former APWWS member Smty Jarjum Gamlin Ete, Ms. Hoksum ori, Resource person Bahi Koyu CDPO i/c Dy. Director ICDS, Mrs Liyum Padu lollen, elected women Panchayat leaders, President and Secretaries of all the colonies were attended.

While welcoming the masses APWWS District unit President Smty Marbom Riba Bagra emphasized on compulsory Marriage Registration, Women empowerment and equality of women in the society.

Resource Person Smty Liyum Padu Lollen C.A one step Aalo request all the Married couples to register for Marriage Certificate. Marriage Certificate is a legal document which is helpful for all purposes. It helps in family law like domestic violence and legally divorces matters. She told about the benefits of Marriage Certificates.

Bahi Koyu i/c Dy. Director ICDS elaborately explained the Gender equality of the Society. He requests the Masses not to give any special preference to the boy child or husband. Girls and Boys have the right in the family and society.

Ms. Hoksum Ori former APWWS member while discouraged the polygamy and requested the women to obtain marriage certificate Aalo APWWS unit is the best as per report. She encouraged the women folk to participate in cooperative society and encouraged the weavers for self sustainable.

Mrs Jarjum Gamlin Ete Former member of APWWS shared the women Masses to change their mentality for the welfare of family and society. She requests the Women to be economically and financially sound in Textile and Handloom Sectors.

The Day was observed with colorful Cultural Programs.
