Mary Kom attended the 58th Mopin Festival at Aalo.

Aalo the 5th April 2024: The 58th Mopin Festival was celebrated at Aalo with great pomp and gaiety. Mrs MC Mary Kom graced the occasion as Chief Guest at Gumin Kinn Aalo. Sri Liduk Padu General Secretary of Central Mopin Celebration Committee (CMCC) welcome the guests and highlighted the importance of Mopin festival.

          MC Mary Kom a great Boxer and Member of Parliament Rajya Sabha during her speech urged the youths to take the every hurdles of life as challenged. She was emotional while delivering speech and said I have crossed every hurdles of life and challenged the every steps of life. She enjoyed inside the ring as she knew every techniques of boxing.

          She appeals the Galo peoples to be united and urged the youth of the society to be hard work in every spheres of life. Mary Kom was honoured with 19 different awards including Arjuna Award, Padma Shri Award etc. In the national level she achieved 12 Gold in various women Boxing championship and in international women boxing championship she bagged 31 medals including Gold, Silver and Bronze.

          CMCC felicitated and honoured Sri Hogdo Lollen who is also one of the active member of making Aalo Township (ALONG).

          Sri Deba Loya President CMCC 2024 said that Mopin Festival is the identity of Galo people. He urged all the Galo people to preserve and protect the sacred Mopin Festival.

          More than 35 Popir team from different sectors participated in the main day. The festival celebration was attended by Observer of Election, DC cum Patron Ms Mamu Hage, Brigadier of Indian Army, Retired Officers, Senior Citizen, Panchayat Leaders, women, children.
