NEFTU celebrated Women Day

Aalo the 8th March  2024: The North East Frontier Technical University (NEFTU) Legal Aid Cell, Faculty of Law, under the aegis of District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), celebrated the Women’s Day in a very unique and thoughtful manner, by co- organizing a mass awareness programme with Chebung Banggo Welfare Society (CBWS), on ‘’RIGHTS OF WOMEN AND CHILDREN’’, in collaboration with the General Administration Kaying on 8th March 2024 at Kaying Community Hall/Dere.

               The International Women’s Day Celebration began with Welcome speech by Mr. TangakTabang, LLB final year student NEFTU cum President Chebung Banggo Welfare Society (CBWS). Followed by key note address by Mrs. JarjumEte, LLB final year, NEFTU, Social Activists and former Chairperson Women Commission. Mrs Ete enlighten the audience how and when 8th March was recognised as International Women’s Day. She also spoke on the Sati Pratha, POCSO Act, the role of APWWS in securing the present status of women at Arunachal Pradesh, she urged the HGB/GBs to voice to retain the three tier system or Kebang system.  She also highlighted the present drug nuisance in our society which needs our immediate stand to shaping the future of our young generations.

               Ms. Pooza Sonam, CO i/c EAC, Kaying, Siang District also actively participated in the said programme. programme as one of the resource person. She spoke about the importance of celebrating the International Women’s Day and gave the audience an insight into celebrating today’s programme.

               The other resource persons were Mr. Kishan Kr. Pasi, HOD, Law, NEFTU, spoke on the Role of Customary Court, awareness on new and old criminal law  and  Mr. KentoTashi,  Assistant Professor, Faculty of Law, NEFTU, spoke on the ‘Women Rights with special reference to Domestic Violence and it’s punishment.

               The other speakers of the International Women’s Day Celebration  were Mr Mime Angu, also the host of the progamme and LLB final year student, he spoke on ‘’Right to Education and Children .And Ms. Henbi Ada, also a LLB final year student, beautifully presented the ‘Women rights with reference to Constitution of India.

               The programme attracted a huge public gathering which consisted of Kaying Administrative staffs, SMO Kaying, HGB, GBs, PRI members, CBWS members,Secretary ABK/ABAK Kaying/Payum Block, ALRSLM, PLF members under kaying and Payum block, NEFTU Law Students and general public of Kaying. Some fun activities were also organized which added more colours and enthusiasm to the programme.
