Nyirmen Festival Celebrated with Gaiety.

Aalo 05th Nov: – The Aalo street from Nehru Chowk to Gumin Kiin wore a Spectacular cultural carnival look as thousand women thronged it to showcase rich verities of traditional insights into our dresses, folklores and traditional practices on the occasion of Nyirmen Festival celebration today. The festival was celebrated by Galo Women Wing of West Siang under the aegis of Galo Welfare Society.
Attending the occasion as the Chief Guest, Smti Yanga Poyom Yomcha, one of the senior most woman Priest of Galo Society said that this festival which is hailed as Women’s Day is unique in the sense that it depicts ideals of tribal womanhood like any other ancient Indian society. She stressed on celebrating it among the Galo women of the state as a festival to be reckoned with. The Secretary GWS, West Siang Unit Shri Nyage Loya stressed on showcasing our rich culture through such festival and Shri Mogi Ori, President Donyi Polo Kargu Gamgi Aalo narrated the mythology behind celebration Nyirmen.
The President Nyirmen Festival Smti Mornyak Loyi Ete and Secretary Smti Gebom Ete Padu highlighted the main objectives behind celebrating the festival and expressed their gratitude to one and all for making the festival a successful one. Jirdin, Deyi Gumin and Hissam bagged the first, 2nd and third prizes of street Carnival Show sponsored by Dr. Dubom Bagra. The cultural extravaganza in the evening will mainly focus on laughter induced comics by sectors and colonies of Aalo on competitive basis.
