One Day Awareness programme on Legal Adoption held at Aalo

Aalo 25^th November 2022:- A one day awareness programme on Legal Adoption to mark the International month of Adoption – November 2022 was conducted on 25^th November, 2022 at DC’s Conference Hall organized by District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), West Siang District, Aalo.

The programme was graced by Smt. Mabi Taipodia Jini SDO, Bahi Koyu i/c DCPO, representatives from GWS & APWWS (WSD) including Shri Meddak Lona President GWS, Smt. Roge Ado Ete Secretary APWWS, Stakeholder from Health and Police Department, DCPU, ICDS & OSC staff.

On the very outset Bahi Koyu, i/c DCPO welcome the participants and highlighted the prevailing of JJB & CWC, Sponsorship & Foster Care and Structure of DCPU under MISSION VATSALYA. Moreover brief about Child in need of Care and Protection (CNCP) and Child in Conflict with Law (CCL).

Shri Mijum Doke Legal cum Probation Officer (LPO) PPT presentation on Legal Adoption under Adoption Regulation 2022, discussing the procedure of Adoption on how to adopt, who can adopt & who can be adopted, age criteria of Prospective Adoptive Parents (PAPs), Roles & Responsibility of District Magistrate and Punitive provision for illegal adoption of Children under the Act.

Smt. Mabi Taipodia Jini SDO shares his personal experience and had healthy discussion with participants regarding the adoption & other prevailing laws and straight the participants & concerned authority to follow the procedure of adoption as per the act.
