Republic Day celebrated with fanfare.

Aalo 27th Jan: – The 72nd Republic Day was celebrated along with rest of the country in district headquarter and all administrative headquarters of the district with gaiety on 26th Jan Last. The West Siang Deputy Commissioner Shri Moki Loyi unfurled the ceremonial flag as Chief Guest of the function.
Addressing a mammoth gathering, recalled the names of martyrs and architects of the Indian constitution who won freedom for us and established a sovereign, socialist, secular and democratic republic for the people of India and appealed people of all walks of life to strive hard to contribute our best for the growth and development of the nation. He disclosed that many of the development schemes have been hampered by Covid-19 pandemic and though many projects could not be completed in time, he appealed all departments to take them up in letter and spirit. The Covid-19 vaccine has been launched and it is being administered to 1458 Health care workers first and then to police, army and people above 50 years phase wise.
The DC also gave away Commendation Drug Recovery Addicts Shri Kirge Raksap, Atur Rongphar and Dulo Poyom those who have reintegrated themselves with mainstream of life to associate with Mothers’ Vision by playing active role in mentoring 100 days rehabilitation center to drug addicts/alcoholic persons in the center. All other meritorious govt official from various departments was also given Commendation Certificates on the occasion.
The Kumao Regiment from Aalo Military Station displayed weapons, band and put up all tents to help the district administration. Horticulture, Agriculture bagged the first and second prizes for Exhibition Stalls put up on the occasion.
