Sensitization and awareness programme on POCSO AND Protection of Women held.

Aalo on 6^th September 2023: The Sensitization and awareness program on “Protection of Children from sexual Offence Act 2012 (POCSO) and Protection of Women from Sexual harassment work at work place” was conducted in the DC’s Conference Hall Aalo.

            Sri Bahi Koyu CDPO i/c Dy. Director ICDS highlighted the aims and objective of the awareness meeting.

            Deputy Commissioner of West Siang District Shri Penga Tato while chairing the meeting urges all the private and government schools hostel to engage the warden of girls hosted by lady teacher. He also informs the DDSE to ensure to monitor the Private schools girls hostel to be look after by lady teacher as warden. During the meeting DC urges all the public’s, Officers, School teachers to aware of the POCSO Act 2012 and Sexual harassment of women in work place.

            Ms. Marphy Ete advocate as a resource person highlighted the protection of women from sexual harassment in work places and presented the punishment and rules applied for violation the sexual harassment of women in work places in Power Point Presentation.

            Miss Karken Angu advocate (Special Public Prosecutor) highlighted the POCSO related cases and its punishments. “Most of the POCSO cases are generally practiced in the institutions and home” Adv Angu said.

            Adv Angu request every participants to Lodge an FIR against the offender. Also she appeals everyone to aware of the POCSO Act, 2012.

            Among others, HOD’S, Admin Officers, NGO’s, APWWS, Police Officers were attended the awareness meeting.
