Sensitization and Consultation Workshop on APPDWCAB Held.

Aalo the 23rd Dec: The sensitization and consultation workshop on Arunachal Pradesh Protection of Drinking Water Catchment Area Bill 2019 attended at large by HODs, ATPDBS, Galo Ane, Public leaders, APWWS and CHGBs was held under the Chairmanship of West Siang Deputy Commissioner Smti Swetika Sachan at Conference Hall of DC Office today.
The DC said that sources of water are diminishing day by day and time has come for us rejuvenating the existing sources to cater growing water needs of the ever expanding population. The govt is keen to protect the catchment areas of all sources of water through Govt. legislation. She said that people should not worry that all lands near water sources will be notified and kept under govt and asked all CHGBs and HGBs to draw public opinion on the draft bill by 26th of Dec. The Executive Engineer PHED, Er. Kirba Sora explained in detail about the draft bill and disclosed that diminishing sources of water everywhere is a cause of concern for every consumers and govt. is mooting a legislation to protect all catchment areas.
Ex. Minister Shri Doi Ado, Shri Tumpe Ete, former ZPM, Kirdo Ete , AGS ATPWDS, Smti Marbom Riba Bagra represent ting APWWS Aalo, Hongam Ango Ete President Galo Ane and officers attending the meeting spoke on the need for such legislation. Er. Bomi Nyorak and Geli Noshi, AEs PHED gave a detail deliberation on the draft Bill through Power Point Presentation. Few CHGBs and HGBs who were apprehensive of losing their jungle lands through such legislation were asked to conduct such awareness workshops within their respective jurisdictions and submit reort by 26th of Dec.
