Solung Festival Gets Festive Start with Cultural Extravaganza.

Aalo 31st August: The popular festival of Adi Community, Solung got off to a festive start with rich varieties of cultural shows on songs, dance, drama, folklores and anecdotes based on tribal myths and mythology at Gumin Kiin on 30th August last.
Gracing the occasion as Chief Guest and Guest of Honour respectively, Shri T. Jerang, Prominient leader from Rumgong and and Shri Liyi Bagra, ADC Boleng stressed on preservation of our age old culture through such celebration. Festival should always be an occasion for promoting unity and oneness among all tribes despite variation in the mode of celebration and they assured to donate one mithun each in the next Solung Celebration.
The President of the Solung Gidi Celebration Shri Ogong Tamuk disclosed that effort is being made to invite all people of yesteryears who were instrumental in celebration of Solung and Mopin Festivals in the past together for a nostalgic congregation of the two communities. The cultural event this year too is being organized under the patronage of Shri Mijum Lona, President Central Mopin Preservation and Cultural Society.
