SP Inaugurates Child Friendly Corner at Police Station Aalo.

Aalo 19th June: – A Child Friendly Corner at Aalo Police Station was inaugurated by Shri Jummar Basar, Superintendent of Police Siang District in presence of Shri Bahi Koyu, District Child Protection Officer, West Siang District, Aalo and Insp. Yomken Riram, OC, Police Station Aalo amid fanfare on 18th June last.

Child Friendly Corner is a designated room or building in a Police Station where any Child/ in conflict with law and who are in need of care and protection shall be accommodated. The purpose of Child Friendly Care is to create conducive environment/condition for any child so that psycho – social mindset of the child is not affected with negatively. This Child Friendly Corner at Police Station Aalo is refurbished and furnished by the department of Women and Child Development in collaboration with Home (Police) department.

The SP said that such Children Corner will go a long way in addressing the issues related to children of the district. Shri Bahe Koyu, DCPO spoke in length on the need of such platform for the for the well being of the children. On this propitious occasion, the Chairman Child Welfare Committee (CWC) West Siang District, Aalo along with members of CWC, Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) and District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) Staffs were present. In this very day plantation programme was also conducted in premises of Child Friendly Corner.
