Two week long Children Theatre Workshop begun at Aalo

Aalo on 16th December 2022:-  15 days production Oriented Children Theatre Workshop  was inaugurated by Jomnya Siram (Rtd Jt. Director Art & Culture GoAP). The programme was Jointly Organized by Department of Art & Culture West Siang District Aalo in collaboration with North East Zone Cultural Centre,Dimapur,Ministry of Culture Govt. of India.

            During the inaugural day Sri Dagi Angu District Art & Culture Officer Aalo highlighted the nature & scopes of the 2 weeks theatre workshop.

            Sri Jomnya Siram (Rtd. Jt Director) as a Chief Guest who served in the same department for more than thirty years shared his nostalgic experiences and services to the participants. He encouraged the young artiste to preserve and protect the age old culture and tradition of the tribal society. As a senior most artiste, he was appointed as a member of NEZCC for 15 years. He conducted many NEZCC workshop at Aalo and Arunachal Pradesh. He urged the Department of Art and culture to give more emphasized on preservation of culture and tradition, which is the only backbone and identity of our state.

            Further, He requests the singers of the modern era not to modify the tune of folk song for which the original tune of the old song and folk song will be vanished. The Originality of the folk song must be preserved. He appreciated the Director NEZCC to choose Aalo for the centre of Theatre Workshop 2022 and expecting more such workshop in near future too.  

            Theatre Workshop Director, Sri Mijum Lona, Asst. Director Sri Lee Sora and Mrs Lee Ete Ngomdir also spoke on the occasion and they will lead the whole programme with the children artistes.

            The programme was attended by students from various schools and staffs from IPR and Art & Culture of Aalo were presents.
