Yomgo Accord and River Pooja Conducted as Part of YRF-2020.

Aalo 27th Jan: – The Second phase of Yomgo River accord and River Pooja were conducted and performed today in the run up the celebration of Yomgo River Festival-2020 at Ranaghat near Kabu village of West Siang District today. The Yomgo River Accord was taken up with people residing along Sipu River, a tributary of Yomgo from Rigo village to Sipu bridge point clearing all debris and wastes along the river banks. This Accord is an effort towards conservation of aquatic life in the river and clean up its banks for a people-friendly and eco-friendly atmosphere to maintain the sanctity of the river that has sustained the tribal society through the ages. This accord is being taken up at various locations of the district.
The day also witnessed River Pooja under the initiative of Priest Shri Mogi Ori invoking River God with rich rituals for general well of all who are involved as part of the celebration so that bad omen do not befall on anyone. . These rivers and rivulets have been the source of life and sustenance through the ages and festival that unfolds from 7th to 9th of February offers treasure of events and choices in a place where culture meets the nature.
The site plan and events in the venue is being managed by Wild Flower Production led by Miss Karry Padu and Pinky Veo and Orchids led by Bhanu Sora is looking after PR events as Event Managers of YRF-2020. All departments of the district led by West Siang Deputy Commissioner, Smti Swetika conducted a massive social service today to clean up the entire stretch of the festival venue.
